Setting Up Your E-mail Account in Microsoft Outlook Express
I'm often asked how to set up email using Outlook Express. This guide will show you how to set up Microsoft Outlook Express to work with any e-mail account you need to set up. Although this tutorial focuses on setting up Microsoft Outlook Express 6, you can set up previous versions by using the settings shown in this tutorial (the settings are similar in older versions of Microsoft Outlook Express, they just look a little different).

First of all, open up Outlook Express.
1. Open Microsoft Outlook Express and select Tools > Accounts.
2. Select the "Mail" tab in the Internet Accounts window and click "Add".
3. Enter you name and click Next.
4. Enter the email address you wish to set-up and click Next.
5. On the E-mail Server Names window, enter the following information:
My incoming mail server is a POP3 server (use the pull-down menu)
Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server: mail.yourwebsiteaddress.co.uk
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:
mail.yourwebsiteaddress.co.uk *
Just replace "yourwebsiteaddress.co.uk" with your own website address. Click Next.
* Depending on who your ISP is (Internet service provider), you may not be able to use "mail.yourwebsiteaddress.co.uk". If it doesn't work (sending emails) you will have to get the setting from your ISP. Examples can be found here http://www.pixelism.co.uk/support/smtp-server-list
6. Enter your login account name and enter your password. These are the ones given to you in your welcome email, or ones you have subsequently set-up yourself via your control panel (cPanel). Make sure that "Remember password" is selected. Click Next.
7. Click Finish.
8. Select the mail account you just created and click "Properties".
9. In the Properties window, select the "General" tab. Enter any descriptive name in the first field, such as "Home email address".
Click Apply.
Well done! You have now set-up your first email account. You can now set-up as many other accounts as you need to.
